For my comics course at MCC, we were told to fold a sheet of paper in a specific way so that it would form a book to have 8-pages. Our task then was to make a comic about anything that tells a passage of time, and it must have a cover page. For this, I told the history of the Erie Canal. With the book being both short, and mostly drawings, I started the title with "A Brief, Visual History..."
**The full comic can be found on my Instagram page.**
How the comic looks like in real life all folded and everything. The comic was all done with microns with standard printing paper. The size of the book is about 2.5x4.25".
The cover page of the comic showing a basic scene of the Erie Canal. I tried to be as generic as possible while trying to set it pre-1910s before the second enlargement between 1903-1918.
A page from the book that shows the general layout. On the top, I indicate what year/event is occurring (in this case the second enlargement), a drawing of the event (which in this case is based off an actual photo) and had someone in the drawing what's going on. In cases where the drawing is based off an photo, I try to represent it in my drawing style.
