In July of 2019, I went on a 11-day trip to Japan with my family and it was so much fun! Later on, I drew all about my trip to Japan in a 10-foot long Moleskin Accordion Book that folds to be 10-feet long when you open it. The whole thing was done with Micron markers, and many details in the books represents something that happened. It took 3 months of planning and drawing to complete it. A PDF was made to help explain everything in the book.
View below is the full version of the piece, but in a small file to load properly. Below you can see the full piece in full detail, as well as a PDF explanation of the contents.
Development
A very early sketch of the layout of the book that goes up to day 3. A full rough sketch wasn't done for this project, as this was just a test to see if my concept would work.
A photograph of the book being inked with micron pens. At this point, the rain hasn't been drawn yet, and I'm just starting day 3. A very light pencil sketch was first done in the book to plan where things would go and then it was inked.
